There is a huge difference between "staging" a property and "interior decorating". 

 

 

Staging is not "personal".  It's a series of steps taken in order to make a property the most appealing it can be "to the masses" of prospective buyers in the real estate marketplace, much like they do with model homes.  Staging reduces time on the market while most often obtaining a higher sales price.   Keep in mind, your property is now a "product" and as such it must be merchandised to sell.  Nobody really lives like this, day after day.  But, you have to change your mind-set to see your property the way others will. 

 

Staging does not mean going through a property and painting everything off-white.  There's much more to it.  It is a process. 

 

 

          

 

 

Interior Decorating is "entirely personal".  Everything is done according to your likes and dislikes.  Your colors, your style.  This is how you want to live.  Who else will adore that "pink" elephant you received at Christmas or the shag carpet under the "weathered coffee table" you inherited, even though it glows in the dark?  But YOU love it!
